A strong back nine carried University Heights Academy freshman Conlee Lindsey to her first career golf invitational win Monday.
Lindsey shot a 77 to edge her sister Rheagan and Hopkinsville’s Cate Blane to win the Hopkinsville Invitational at the Hopkinsville Country Club.
It was quite a turnaround for Lindsey, who bogeyed her first three holes of the round. She was able to birdie both par 3 holes on the front nine to go out with a 40.
Lindsey had a birdie and two bogeys on the back nine to come in with a 37 and win by a shot.
Rheagan Lindsey had a pair of birdies on the back nine coming with a chip in off the green on No. 11 and a bird on No. 18.
In her first few months of playing golf, Lucy Wilkins had a 131 for UHA who did not field a complete team Monday.
