It could be a good thing for Todd County Central’s Jase Paul Hampton that this year’s region golf tournament will be played at the Rolling Hills Golf Course in Russellville. Playing on the course for the second time in five days, Hampton shot a one-over-par 73 to finish in a tie for 4th place at SOKY Shootout.
On Friday, Hampton shot a 73, and finished in a tie for 4th place in the Spartan Clash on the same golf course.
Hampton was consistent throughout his round. He finished the day with 13 pars, three bogeys, and two birdies. He shot one-over on the front nine and even par on the back nine.
His score of 73 tied him with Jacob Lang, of Greenwood, Dalton Fiveash, of Franklin-Simpson, and Rafe Blankenship, of Allen County-Scottsville.
Michael Lang, of Greenwood, took medalist honors with a round of 70, winning a two hole playoff with Charlie Reber, of Bowling Green. Jameson Corbin, of Barren County was third with a 72.
Other finishes for the Rebels were:
Preston Rager – 94 – 68th place
Ryan Williams – 95 – 69th place
Noah Rager – 97 – 7th place
As a team, the Rebels finished the day in 13th place. Greenwood “A” took 1st place. Bowling Green “A” was second, while Franklin-Simpson took 3rd place.
