Easton McGee was part of team history Tuesday as the Montgomery Biscuits beat the Tennessee Smokies 6-2 in Double-A baseball action.
Montgomery pitchers tied a team record with 20 strikeouts, with the former Kentucky Mr. Baseball from Hopkinsville High responsible for a season-high 12 strikeouts.
McGee allowed one run over six innings and walked just one batter. He improved his season record to 2-0 and lowered his ERA to 4.97.
The six innings pitched are also a season-high for McGee.
Montgomery, a minor league affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays, is 43-34 and in second place in the Double-A South Division.
