The Caldwell County Lady Tiger soccer team played its first preseason scrimmage Tuesday night at Butler Stadium, but dropped a 3-1 decision to Owensboro.
The Lady Devils struck for three first-half goals, getting scores in the 6th, 12th and 26th minutes.
The second half was not only more competitive, but Caldwell County actually had the better of the scoring chances in the second 40 minutes.
The Lady Tigers got on the scoreboard late when Laken White knocked home a rebound following a corner kick. But Caldwell could only get the one goal in the 3-1 preseason setback.
The Lady Tigers have a second scrimmage set for Thursday at Murray High School.
The regular season for both Caldwell County soccer teams is Monday when the Tigers and Lady Tigers host Webster County at Butler Stadium.
