The young Todd County Central boys’ soccer team opened the season with a stiff test against one of the top teams in the 2nd Region on Monday, with hosts Madisonville-North Hopkins proving too much for the Rebels in a 10-0 setback.
JJ Brown opened the scoring for Madisonville and made it 3-0 a short time later on the other side of a goal by freshman Dru Lile. Ryerson Brower scored the next two off assists from Sam Dodds and Ivan Juarez to stretch the lead to five.
Juarez provided assists to both Terry and Maddox Schneider before senior Zach Bryant got on the board with help from Brower. Juarez scored unassisted and then provided the pass for Brown’s third goal to end the game.
Both teams will face Hopkins County Central in their next time out, with Madisonville opening 7th-District play on Thursday and the Rebels hosting the Storm on the 17th.
