With a week to go until they open the regular season on the road against Caldwell County, the Christian County Colonels got in a final scrimmage on Friday night at Austin Peay State University.

Christian County began with two quarters against West Creek High School, falling 8-7 to the Coyotes.  The Colonels struck first on a 79-yard TD throw from sophomore quarterback Jordan Miles, but that would be their only trip to the end zone.

West Creek finally found got on the board on their final possession, with Jaisaun Ousley racing around the outside for a 31-yard scoring run.  The Coyotes added a two-point conversion and held the Colonels on four downs as the clock ran out.

Christian County found things more difficult in the second half against Rossview, although the Colonels again took an early when Hawks quarterback Garrett Diemel couldn’t hand a snap and it rolled out of the end zone for a safety.

The Colonel offense couldn’t get anything going, and Rossview steadily pulled away on a pair of TD runs by Michael Arthur and three scoring throws for Diemel to prevail 27-2.
