After opening the season with a shutout loss to Caldwell County, the Trigg County girls’ soccer team picked up its first win of the season on Monday at Crittenden County behind three goals from sophomore Lania Hite.

The Lady Wildcats moved to 1-0 in 5th-District play and send the Lady Rockets to their third-straight defeat to start the season.

Trigg was done in by a late goal in their opener but was in control from the beginning against the Lady Rockets.  In addition to Hite’s three goals and an assist, Allie Hill also found the back of the net and provided a pair of assists.

Defensive standout Olivia Noffsinger also notched an assist and goalkeeper Sarah Sink picked up the shutout.

Both teams are scheduled to face Fort Campbell in their next outings, with Crittenden meeting the Lady Falcons in an All-A matchup on Tuesday and the Lady Wildcats waiting a week before they hit the road on Monday.
