Bell’s 2nd Half Goal Carries Lady Colonels Past Todd Central

autumn-3

After a loss and then back-to-back ties, the Christian County Lady Colonels broke through into the win column Thursday evening, but the Todd County Central Lady Rebels did not make it easy. After having their season delayed a week due to a lack of players, Coach Torri Bankston and her Lady Rebels pushed the Lady Colonels to the brink Thursday evening at the Stadium of Champions.

Autumn Bell’s second half goal proved to be the difference in the match as the Lady Colonels pulled out the 1-0 win in the tough battle with the Lady Rebels.

Christian County and Todd Central battled through the opening half as neither team could find the net and the two squads went to the break at 0-0.

Due to an injury, the Lady Rebels had to play through the second half with only ten players on the field.

Carlisa Hobson had a solid night in goal for Christian County, coming up with the shutout and finishing with three saves.

Todd Central’s Sam Case faced a bit more firepower from Christian County, but gave up only the goal to Bell and finished the night with 18 saves.

Christian County goes to 1-1-2 on the season and is set to be back in action Saturday morning at Owensboro Catholic.

The Lady Rebels drop to 0-1-1 and will host Logan County on Tuesday.
