Today is decision day for Ty Bryant and my guess is that he picks UK

Ty Bryant is a gifted football player but also excels in baseball.

It will surprise me if Frederick Douglass junior Ty Bryant does not commit to Kentucky this afternoon during a ceremony at his high school. No, no one has told me but his father, Cisco, played at UK for Jerry Claiborne and he has two former Douglass teammates, Jager Burton and Dekel Crowdus, now at Kentucky.

He also has offers from West Virginia, Louisville, Kansas, Cincinnati, Marshall, and Tennessee. Plus, he does have one from Dartmouth also because he carries a 4.3 grade-point average.

The 6-0, 175-pound Bryant has taken the COVID do-over year and is now in the 2023 recruiting class. However, he only turned 17 Wednesday and will still just be 18 years old when he graduates.

His father said reclassification was the best move to make.

“Most people do not realize how young he is when you see his size and maturity. But reclassifying helps give him a chance to mature more physically. We are sorry about COVID and the setbacks it caused many people but from our perspective, it helped for him to stay back a year,” Cisco Bryant said.

Ty Bryant figures to be a defensive back in college and is a dynamic tackler. However, he also has the speed and ball skills to play receiver. He may even play running back for Douglass this season.

If that’s not enough, Bryant is also a gifted baseball player.
