
Trigg County’s fledgling girls’ golf program made a big step Saturday, competing in the Class 2A sectional golf tournament at the Providence Country Club.
Natalia Slover finished in sixth place with a round of 112, just missing qualifying for the Class 2A state tournament by two shots.
Emma Dowell was one shot back with a 113, and MaKenzie Yielding added a 128. Reilyn Berthume shot a 132.
Calloway County’s Javen Campbell shot a 94 to take first place, seven shots better than Webster County’s Natalee Littlepage.
