Trigg County captured the inaugural Class 2A golf sectional championship Saturday at the Madisonville Country Club.
Trigg totaled 314 points to defeat Paducah Tilghman by 38 points.
Hunter Reynolds captured medalist honors with a 2-over-par 73. He finished strong with a 2-under 34 on the back nine and edged Tilghman’s Jack Butts by two shots.
Haydon Reynolds tied for fourth place with a 79. Ty Butts followed with an 80, and Tyler Ahart shot a career-best round of 82. Dallas Ahart carded a 100.
Trigg County will compete at the Class 2A State Championships next month in Owensboro.
The Class 2A scores were part of the Hopkins County Central Invitational. Trigg’s score was good for third place behind Marshall County and Madisonville. Hunter Reynolds’ score was good for fifth place.
