Trigg County and Christian County both came into Monday night’s match at the Stadium of Champions having trouble finding the net. After being held to one goal in the first four matches of the 2021 season, the Wildcats rang up four goals on the offensive end while their defense turned away the Colonels all night long as Trigg County picked up the 4-0 win.

The Wildcats found more opportunities over the course of the night than did the Colonels. Trigg County outshot Christian County 19-11 for the match.

The Wildcats got on the board at 20:50 in the first half when Daniel Jimenez took a pass from Keller Nichols and put Trigg County up 1-0. Less than 10 minutes later, after a foul from Christian County, Nichols drilled the penalty kick to extend the lead to 2-0.

Nichols then effectively put the game away at the 68:30 mark when he took a pass from Daniel Jimenez and drilled the shot to extend the lead out to 3-0. Timmy Mendez would wrap up the scoring at 74:15 to make it 4-0.

Trigg County improves to 1-3-1 with the win. The Wildcats are set to get back to action Saturday when they take on Barren County and Greenwood at the Russellville Panther Classic.

The Colonels dropped to 0-3-1 on the season. Christian County is slated to host University Heights Wednesday evening at the Stadium.
