Late Goals Help Maroons Put Away Caldwell 5-0

Caldwell County played 7th District favorite Madisonville-North Hopkins to a 1-0 game for over 50 minutes on Monday.

However, the homestanding Maroons added four goals over the final 28 minutes of play to finish off a 5-0 triumph over the Tigers.

J.J. Brown scored the first of his two goals in the first half as Madisonville got to halftime with its 1-0 advantage.

Brown’s second goal came on a penalty kick in the 52nd minute to make ti 2-0.

Brown picked up an assist on a goal by Ivan Juarez in the 68th minute to put Madisonville up 3-0.

The Maroons scored two more goals in the final 5 minutes to extend the margin to 5-0. Logan Terry and Nojah Jimenez had the final two tallies. Juarez and Maddox Schneider picked up assists.

Madisonville improved to 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the district.

Caldwell slipped to 2-3 and 0-1.
