The UHA Lady Blazers gave a solid effort in their first road trip of the season but just could not find the net often enough to derail the McCracken County Lady Mustangs. McCracken became the first team to score on the Lady Blazers in the 2021 season and then went on to win the match 3-1.
UHA got on the board first in the match. Audrey Grise found the net in the 16th minute to put the Lady Blazers up 1-0. The goal came off an assist from Stella Del Valle.
McCracken County evened things up in the 28th minute when the Lady Mustangs broke clear and deflected one in off the goal post to make it 1-1. McCracken would score right before the half to take a 2-1 lead into the break.
The Lady Mustangs then effectively put the match away with a goal in the 70th minute to extend the lead to 3-1.
The win improves McCracken County to 3-2-1. The Lady Mustangs’ losses and tie came at the Smoky Mountain Cup in Gatlinburg.
UHA drops to 3-1. The next scheduled match, at the moment, is September 9th at Fort Campbell. However, the All-A sectional match with the winner of the 1st Region is likely to be scheduled before that date.
