There are nights when you just know that it is going to be an uphill battle. Such was the case for the Todd County Central Rebels Thursday evening. The Rebels made the journey to Glasgow to take on LaRue County in the Scotties Classic.
If the bus ride in the steaming heat was not enough, then there were bus issues for the Rebels. Those issues led to the team arriving 25 minutes late for their match with the Hawks, which in turn resulted in a short warmup period for the Rebels.
All of those could have well played into the fact that LaRue County scored the only goal of the match inside the first ten minutes of the contest as the Hawks took a 1-0 win over the Rebels.
Outside of the early goal, Todd County Central controlled the match, outshooting LaRue County 20-5, but just not being able to get the ball to find the net. The Rebels had their opportunities, getting 10 corner kick chances over the course of the match.
Keeper Jonah Rager would finish the evening with four saves in goal for the Rebels.
Todd Central falls to 0-4 on the season. They will return to Glasgow and the Scotties Classic Saturday for matches against Taylor County and Hart County.
