The Trigg County volleyball team dropped its first 5th-District matchup of the season on Thursday, falling 0-3 to the host Crittenden County Lady Rockets.
The Lady Wildcats struggled to their fifth-straight loss to start the season, failing to win a set for the third match in a row. The Lady Rockets win their second in a row without dropping a set, improving to 2-1 overall.
Crittenden ran away with the opening set 25-9, before taking the second 25-11. The Lady Wildcats put up more of a fight in the third but the Lady Rockets prevailed 25-16.
Trigg County will travel to Livingston Central on Tuesday in search of a first 5th-District victory. Crittenden will also be in Smithland for its next match, facing off with the Cardinals on September 2.
