A pair of ties were the order of the day for the Todd County Central Rebels soccer team as they returned to Glasgow to finish play in the Scotties Classic. The Rebels began play in the event Thursday with a tough 1-0 loss to LaRue County.
The Rebels opening match of the day had them squaring off with the Taylor County Cardinals. The match was scoreless until 15 minutes left, when Angel Villanueva headed in a corner kick from Chris Salazar to get the Rebels a 1-0 lead.
The Rebels looked to be headed for the win until they were called for a foul in the box with under two minutes left. Taylor County would convert the penalty kick and the match ended in a 1-1 tie.
The second match of the day had the Rebels taking on the Hart County Raiders. Todd County Central seemed to be controlling the match when it was stopped for a heat delay. After the heat delay, the match was stopped again because of storms in the Glasgow area. The match would not be allowed to resume and was called a 0-0 tie.
With their one loss and two ties in the tournament, the Rebels finished in third place.
Todd Central now stands at 0-4-2 for the year. The Rebels head off to Franklin Simpson on Tuesday.
