Neither the Caldwell County Lady Tigers nor a first-half lightning delay could slow down hosts Henderson County on Monday, with the Lady Colonels running out 5-0 winners.
Henderson wins its third straight to improve to 4-2, while Caldwell suffers a fifth loss in a row after an opening-night victory.
Briley Fuller opened the scoring for the Lady Colonels with only ten minutes played, and they led 1-0 when lightning halted the proceedings just ahead of the thirty-minute mark.
After the teams returned to the field, Ashton Lynam doubled the Lady Colonel advantage with a twenty-fifth-minute strike, her team-high ninth goal of the season, for a 2-0 score at the halftime break.
Maci Onstott was on target from twenty-five yards out just four minutes into the second frame, and Marley Collins added a fourth just over five minutes later.
Careese Toombs headed home off a corner with five minutes to play for the final 5-0 margin.
Caldwell will make its way to Elkton on Thursday for a matchup with the Todd County Central Lady Rebels.
Unless the weather intervenes, Henderson will host Madisonville-North Hopkins on Tuesday in a battle between two teams with region-title aspirations.
