Christian County’s football game at Henderson County scheduled for Friday has been canceled due to a COVID-19 quarantine among the Colonel program.
A release from the school district Wednesday evening said the football team has “experienced an uptick in both positive and close contact COVID cases.”
According to the school district’s last COVID reporting dashboard from last Friday, there were 38 active cases involving Christian County High students and 55 students were in quarantine.
Christian County opened the 2021 football season with a win over Caldwell County and a loss last week to Logan County. Under KHSAA guidelines for this season, if Henderson County does not find a replacement for Friday’s game, the Colonels will be saddled with a forfeit loss.
District spokesman John Rittenhouse said he expected the Colonels to play September 10 against Madisonville.
