
The Caldwell County Lady Tigers put an end to their five-match losing skid with a strong defensive performance at Todd County Central Thursday evening. The Lady Tigers used a couple of early goals to springboard to the 2-0 win over the Lady Rebels.
Caldwell County got on the board quickly when Reagan Hodge drilled a left-footed shot in the left side of the set at the 3:45 mark to put the Lady Tigers up 1-0.
Caldwell County struck again at the 15:00 mark when Laken White took a rebound that deflected off Todd Central keeper Sam Case and pushed it into the net to extend the lead to 2-0.
From there the Caldwell County defense took over the match.
The Lady Tigers controlled much of the first half, keeping the pressure on the Lady Rebels and outshooting them 9-6.
The second half saw Todd Central control more of the time of possession and pace of the match. However, the Lady Rebels could not get a shot past Caldwell County keeper Rachel McClung and the Lady Tigers held on for the shutout win.
The win improves Caldwell County to 2-5 on the season. The Lady Tigers are set to host Muhlenberg County Monday night.
Todd Central falls to 1-3-1. The Lady Rebels are set to travel to Russellville Tuesday evening for a 13th District matchup.
