The Henderson County Lady Colonels scored early and never looked back in their match against the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers Thursday night in Henderson. The Lady Colonels first found the net just 1:08 into the match and cruised on to a 7-0 2nd Region soccer win.
Ashton Lynam, Careese Toombs, and Nadia Gilbert all scored in the first forty minutes for the Lady Colonels as Henderson County built a 3-0 halftime lead.
The offense kept on rolling for the Lady Colonels in the second half. Lynam would add another goal in the final forty minutes. Kacee Butler scored twice and Marley Collins once as Henderson County pushed the final margin on out to seven goals.
The loss drops the Lady Tigers to 2-3 on the season. They are set to return to play Tuesday on the road at Muhlenberg County.
Henderson County improves to 6-3 and will host Owensboro Saturday morning.
