The duo of Ashton Todd and Braeden Myers-Curry was a bit too much for the Hopkinsville Tigers to overcome Thursday night. The two combined to score seven goals as the Henderson County Colonels rolled past the Tigers 11-1 in Henderson.
Myers-Curry scored two first-half goals as the Colonels got out to a 4-0 halftime lead. Todd scored one of his goals in the first half and Jack Gentry added the other for Henderson County.
Gabe Harton scored early in the second half for Hopkinsville to trim the lead to 4-1, but it was all Henderson after that.
Myers-Curry and Todd would lead a seven-goal explosion for the Colonels that resulted in the match ending with just under fifteen minutes to go.
The loss drops Hopkinsville to 0-2 on the season. The Tigers are set to travel to Murray next Thursday night.
Henderson County improves to 5-2-2 with the win. Up next for the Colonels is a Tuesday night road trip to Mortons Gap to take on Hopkins County Central.
