Thursday’s game had no such weather issues, with the Wildcats jumping on top in the 7th minute.

Danny Jimenez netted the first goal of the game with help from Timmy Mendez.

Trigg (2-3 overall, 1-0 district) struck again in the 12th minute. Marlee Reeves scored off a rebound following a Mendez shot to make it 2-0.

Lyon (1-10, 0-1) got on the scoreboard in the 28th minute when Colt Bannister ran onto a long pass from Lukas Sperry and scored to cut the margin to 2-1.

But the Wildcats regained their two-goal advantage in the 33rd minute. This time, Mendez scored while Jimenez picked up the assist to make it 3-1.

Trigg outshot Lyon 14-10 in the contest.
