Marshall County placed three golfers in the top five to win its own girls’ golf invitational Saturday at the Calvert City Country Club.
Trinity Beth was one of two golfers to shoot under par. Her 2-under 70 was three shots behind winner Cathryn Brown of Lyon County and good for second place.
The eighth-grader shot a 3-over 39 on the front nine but birdied five of the first six holes on the back nine to come in with a 31.
Savannah Howell shot a 1-over par 73 to finish third. She had three birdies on the front nine while shooting even par. She had two birdies on the back nine to come in at 37.
Megan Hertter shot a 2-over 74 that was good for a fifth-place finish. He went out at 37 with a birdie included and came in at 74 with a second birdie.
Katie Roberts shot an 86, and Elsie Riley added a 93 as the Lady Marshals finished with a team score of 303. Madisonville was second with a score of 315.
