The Todd County Central Lady Rebels finished their appearance in the 2021 wReck at the Plex with a 2-2 record, including a win in the 5th place game Saturday at the SportsPlex. The Lady Rebels appeared to be hitting their stride in their final match, where they upended defending 2nd Region champion Caldwell County.
The Lady Rebels began pool play Friday night matched up against Marshall County. The Lady Marshals opened strong, taking the first set 25-18. Todd County Central rebounded by taking the second set 25-18 to even the match up at one set apiece. The third set was a battle down to the final points, with the Lady Marshals coming away with a two-point win to close out the match.
The Lady Rebels then squared off against the Christian County Lady Colonels. Much like the earlier matchup against Marshall County, this one came right down to the final points of the third set, before the Lady Rebels finally came away with the two set to one win.
Todd Central kicked off its morning Saturday with another three-set match. This time it was the Madisonville-North Hopkins Lady Maroons coming away with the three-set win. The loss ended the Lady Rebels’ pool play schedule with a record of 1-2 and placed them in the 5th place game against Caldwell County.
The Lady Rebels played their best match of the weekend in dispatching the Lady Tigers. Todd Central won the opening set handily by the score of 25-13. The second was more of the same, as the Lady Rebels were impressive in closing out the match with a 25-12 win.
