
The Hopkinsville Lady Tigers spent part of the Labor Day weekend at the Jerry Mezur Spikefest hosted by Henderson County, dropping a pair of matches before knocking off Muhlenberg County.
The Lady Tigers were swept in losses to Owensboro Catholic, Owensboro and Hancock County, falling 7-25 and 13-25 to the Lady Aces, 22-25 and 9-25 to the Lady Red Devils, and 16-25 and 18-25 to the Lady Hornets.
Hoptown bounced back to take the first set over Muhlenberg 25-23 and closed out the win with a 25-15 result in the second.
The Lady Tigers now stand at 4-10 and return to the court on Tuesday for an 8th-District battle at Christian County. Hopkinsville is currently 1-2 in district play while the Lady Colonels lost their only district matchup this season.
