The Caldwell County Lady Tiger soccer team has back-to-back shutouts after Monday’s 3-0 victory over Muhlenberg County at Butler Stadium in Princeton.
Caldwell’s girls got first half goals from Laken White and Kendall Boyd to grab a 2-0 lead.
White’s tally in the 14th minute came off a rebound following a long shot in by Addie Cagle.
Boyd scored on a 25-yard blast from straight away in the 24th minute.
Mariah Merritt added a late goal off an assist from Boyd to help put the game away. Boyd sent a pass across the front of the net that Merritt finished in the 73rd minute.
The Lady Tigers controlled action for most of the night, outshooting Muhlenberg 21-3.
Caldwell goalkeeper Rachel McClung needed to make just one save to record the shutout in the net for the Lady Tigers.
Lady Mustang keeper Riley Hafley had 12 saves.
Caldwell’s girls are now 3-5 while Muhlenberg County is 2-5.
It was the first meeting ever between the Lady Tigers and the Lady Mustangs on the soccer field.
Caldwell also picked up a shutout win at Todd County Central last Thursday, claiming that contest 2-0.
The Lady Tigers will play at home again on Thursday when they host Hopkinsville.
