Claire Knoth improved four shots from last year’s trip to the All A Classic State Golf Tournament and just missed a top-10 finish.
The Caldwell County junior shot a 13-over-par 83 Saturday at the Arlington Golf Club in Richmond, the home course of Eastern Kentucky University. Her score saw her finish in 13th place.
Knoth’s round is a 4-shot improvement from last year on the same course where she came in 26th place in the same event.
Knoth went out in 44 with just two pars on the front nine. She finished with a 39 on the back nine capped by a birdie on the 18th hole.
Her round missed the top-10 by four shots.
Glasgow’s Nina McMurtrey won the individual title by two shots.
