Maddie Huddleston Nabs Top-25 Finish at All A State

Maddie Huddleston’s score of 89 Saturday at the All A Classic State Golf Tournament was the same that she shot in last year’s event. However, the paths to reach those scores are vastly different.

The Dawson Springs senior finished in 25th place at the Arlington Golf Club in Richmond — an improvement of seven places from last year.

Huddleston played the back nine first on Saturday, going out with a 47.  She made par on five of her last six holes to finish with a 42 on the front nine and shoot an 89 for the second straight year.

For Huddleston, she is hoping her strong finish Saturday gets her back on track after a bout with COVID-19 has limited her effectiveness in the first part of the season.

She was the lone golfer to represent Dawson Springs at the All A Tournament.  Glasgow’s Nina McMurtrey shot even par to win the individual title by two shots.
