It would probably be ok with the Hopkinsville Tigers if they did not have to play the Murray High Tigers again anytime soon. The Hopkinsville Tigers wrapped up their appearance in the 2021 Boots and Butts Classic with a tough 6-3 loss to the western Tigers Sunday afternoon at the Stadium of Champions.
The match was the third between the two teams in the last four days. Hoptown lost to Murray 7-1 on Thursday, 8-1 on Saturday, and then Sunday’s 6-3 loss.
The Tigers got goals from Nickolaus Klar, Layton Mason, and Ayden Higgins. Will Knight added an assist for the Tigers.
Earlier in the day Sunday, Hopkinsville square off against the high-powered Elizabethtown Panthers. E-town’s firepower was simply too much for a young Tiger squad, as the Panthers rolled to a 10-0 win.
E-town would then go on to win the championship match over West Jessamine.
Hopkinsville is set to return to action Monday night when they host University Heights in a big 8th District battle.
