The more I hear the questions about whether Destin Wade can play quarterback in the Southeastern Conference, the more I think it just might be motivating the University of Kentucky commit from Tennessee.

He put on a show again Friday night in a 55-20 win for Summit over Blackman.

All he did was run for four touchdowns and threw for another one in the blowout. The lead was 42-13 at halftime.

Wade ran 11 times for 260 yards and had touchdown runs of 43, 72, 68, and 30 yards — his second game this season with four touchdown runs. He completed three of four passes for 102 yards, including a 77-yard scoring pass to Brady Pierce.

In an earlier game, this season Wade had scoring runs of 2, 98, 80, and 75 yards so obviously he has the speed when he gets in the open field that no one catches him. And the bomb to Pierce could not have been thrown any better.

His 11 scoring runs have been for an average of 47 yards per score. For the season he has 35 carries for 667 yards — an average of almost 19 yards per attempt.

His twin brother, Keaten, had two sacks in Friday’s win and has been a rock on defense. He is also a Kentucky commit.
