Blazers Lock Up Top Seed with Win Over Falcons

The Fort Campbell Falcons very nearly upset the University Heights Academy Blazers Tuesday night at Fryar Stadium for the first time in seven years. Very nearly. Four different Blazers found the net as UHA held off a game effort from the Falcons in a 4-3 win.

The last time the Falcons snared a win over the Blazers was back on September 23, 2014, when Fort Campbell took down the Blazers 5-2 on post.

Connor Dill, Ethan Hale, Matthew Hauret, and Griffin McCoy all scored for the Blazers. Hale also had two assists on the evening. Will Maxwell and Eli Finch combined for six saves in goal for the Blazers.

The win was the second one-goal district win in as many nights for the Blazers. On Monday night, UHA took down Hopkinsville 2-1.

The Blazers move to 8-6 on the season and 3-0 in district play. The Blazers will be the top seed in the 8th District soccer tournament. UHA is back on the road Thursday to take on the Henderson County Colonels.

Fort Campbell falls to 1-3 overall and 0-1 in district action. The Falcons are set to get back to action Thursday at Todd County Central.
