Kentucky already has Shaedon Sharpe, the No. player in several recruiting rankings, and Skyy Clark, a consensus top 15 player despite being out with an ACL injury, in its 2022 recruiting class but tonight should add another big-time piece to the class.

Chris Livingston, a 6-7, 220-pound five-star small forward, has narrowed his choices to Kentucky, Georgetown, and Tennessee State after eliminating Memphis recently. He is a top five player in the 2022 recruiting class who has transferred to Oak Hill Academy to play for legendary coach Steve Smith his final season.

Kentucky seems to be the consensus pick for Livingston and if he does pick UK, it will vault UK to No. 1 in the 2022 recruiting rankings.

Calipari called a press conference last week — which is unusual at this time of year. One thing he pointed out was how he planned to play four positions requiring guard-like skills — which Livingston certainly has.  Livingston would have the skills to be a perfect fit as the fourth guard in a setup like that and that’s why the message from Calipari was no coincidence.

Livingston is a player who will attack the rim. He’s an adequate but not great shooter from the perimeter. He is a better-than-expected passer and always seems to play with a great motor. His defense has also impressed recruiting analysts.

Kenny Clark, Skyy’s father, says his son has known Livingston since they were in the sixth grade and they have played together at several camps.

What kind of player is Livingston?

“He is a do-it-all player,” Kenny Clark said. “He can rebound, block shots. He has developed a nice jump shot. He can dribble and handle. Wherever he goes, he’s going to be special.”

And he’s going to be really special at UK when he joins Clark, Sharpe, and what will likely be two more big-time signees in this recruiting class for Kentucky.
