After not getting the chance to play last season, the Fort Campbell Lady Falcons and the Fort Knox Lady Eagles hooked up on the pitch at Fryar Stadium Saturday afternoon for their annual soccer battle. The two schools were prohibited from playing “high contact” sports last year by the DoDEA due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Lady Falcons were coming in off an impressive win Thursday night at Fort Campbell. However, on this afternoon it would be Fort Knox that had reason to celebrate.
The Lady Eagles came away with a 5-3 win over the Lady Falcons. The win was the second for Fort Knox this season.
Fort Campbell was led by Charlize Cruz, who scored two goals on the afternoon. Abigail Eastes had the other goal for the Lady Falcons. She also added an assist to her efforts. Anna Allen chipped in with an assist for Fort Campbell.
In goal, Emma Gray finished the match with 18 saves.
The loss drops Fort Campbell to 1-4-1 on the season. The Lady Falcons are set to get back to action Thursday when they host Christian County in an 8th District matchup.
