For the second match in a row, the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers have had trouble getting the ball into the net. The Lady Tigers battled the Logan County Lady Cougars but dropped a tough 2-0 decision at the Stadium of Champions Thursday night.

Since their second-half rally against UHA on Saturday, the Lady Tigers have been shut out by Madisonville and by Logan County.

The match was scoreless until the 21st minute when Kadyn Costello found the net for Logan County to give the Lady Cougars a 1-0 lead. That would be the lead as the two teams headed to the sideline at the break.

Hopkinsville had chances coming out of the break to get the match tied but could not find the way to get the ball into the net. On the other end, the Lady Tigers were also able to keep the Lady Cougars out of the net to keep the margin at one goal for most of the second half.

Logan County got an insurance goal around the 77:00 mark when Kadyn Costello scored her second goal of the night to push the lead out to 2-0.

The lack of scoring was not due to lack of opportunities for the Lady Tigers, as Hopkinsville finished the match with 26 shots on goal.

Vy Nguyen had eight saves in goal for the Lady Tigers.

Hopkinsville now falls to 6-6-1 on the season. They are back on the field this Saturday in the annual Colonel Showcase at the Stadium of Champions.
