The Todd County Central Rebels were looking for their third straight win Thursday night. However, the Franklin Simpson Wildcats had other plans for their match.
Franklin Simpson scored three unanswered goals as they rebounded from an early deficit to take a 3-1 13th District win over the Rebels Thursday evening in Elkton.
The Rebels got off to a good start. Tanner Henderson scored unassisted about the ten-minute mark to give Todd County Central the early 1-0 lead. That lead would hold until late in the half when the Wildcats scored to evening things up at 1-1 going into the break.
The score remained tied until Franklin Simpson found the net again at the 63:00 mark to take a 2-1 lead. The Wildcats would then add an insurance goal with about five minutes left to seal the win.
The Rebels had chances to even things up in the final five minutes but could not get the ball to find the net.
The loss drops the Rebels to 2-8-2 overall on the year and 1-3 in the 13th District. Todd Central is set to get back to action Saturday when they host the Mayfield Cardinals.
