
Cate Blane will be making her second straight trip to the state golf tournament in Bowling Green next week. The Hoptown freshman carded a round of 80 that was good for a fourth place tie on the par-73 Madisonville Country Club.
Blane shot a 40 on both sides of the course. She had five pars on the front nine and six on the back nine. Her round did not have any holes of double-bogey or worse. Blane finished five shots behind the winner, Kaitlyn Zieba of Madisonville.
Sophomore Anna Fort shot a round of 91 that included a 43 on the back nine. She made par on six of her final seven holes.
Senior Audrey Rains was Hoptown’s third golfer on the scoresheet with a 102. She had a par on the front nine as part of a 52 and rolled in a birdie on the par-4 12th hole.
Senior Anna Blane shot a 107 but improved 15 shots on the back nine to come in with a 46. She had two pars and birdied the par-5 16th hole.
Junior Ella Lester shot a round of 144 for the Lady Tigers.
Hopkinsville finished in third place with a score of 380 – eight shots behind runner-up Daviess County. Madisonville won its third straight region title with a winning score of 320.
