
The Trigg County Lady Wildcats picked up a rare win over the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers Monday night. Lania Hite’s two second-half goals broke a 1-1 tie as the Lady Wildcats stunned Hopkinsville 3-1 at the Stadium of Champions.
Trigg County got the early lead in the match when Olivia Noffsinger scored on a direct kick to take a 1-0 lead.
Hopkinsville responded later in the opening half when Abby Moss found the net to even things up 1-1. That would be how the two teams headed off into the break.
Lania Hite found the net for the first time on the evening at 43:10 to give Trigg County the lead again at 2-1. Hite would then add some insurance for the Lady Wildcats with a goal at 53:30 to extend the lead to 3-1.
For the rest of the match, the Lady Wildcats were able to turn the Lady Tigers back and held on for the win.
Trigg County improves to 7-5-1, while Hopkinsville drops to 7-6-1.
