It was a fine way to celebrate Senior Night for the Todd County Central Lady Rebels. Itzel Salazar scored two goals in the second half to help lead the Lady Rebels past Franklin Simpson 4-0 in a 13th District matchup. The win was the second shutout win for the Lady Rebels over the Lady Wildcats this season.
Todd Central had a 1-0 lead at the halftime break thanks to a penalty kick scored by Darby Delph.
The Lady Rebels then put the match away with three goals in the second half. In addition to the two goals scored by Salazar, Melanie Chamberlaine added a goal. Madison Henderson assisted on two of the second-half goals.
Goalie Sam Case, who was stellar in the Lady Rebels tie last week against University Heights, had another solid night with three saves and the shutout.
Todd Central improves to 2-9-2 with the win. The Lady Rebels finish out the regular season Thursday when they host Warren East.
