Madisonville-North Hopkins used its own style of justice to hand University Heights Academy a 6-0 soccer loss Tuesday. The justice is named Kennedy — Kennedy Justice.
The Lady Maroon junior scored four times and moved into second place for the team lead in goals this season.
Justice broke a scoring stalemate that lasted for the first 25 minutes of the contest when she scored off a missed shot that caromed off the post in front.
Camryn LaGrange scored the first of her two goals six minutes later when she cleaned up a misplay in front of the goal for a 2-0 lead. LaGrange, who earlier this season became the school’s all-time leading scorer, assisted on two of Justice’s goals.
Any chance at a second-half UHA comeback was silenced by Justice who scored twice in a minute span early in the second half. One of the goals came off a cross from Lillie Carmen, who had three assists for the game.
LaGrange added her second goal of the game when she pounced on her own penalty kick miss and found the net on the rebound.
Justice closed out the scoring with three minutes left on her fourth goal of the night.
UHA had several chances in each half and saw a pair of shots find the crossbar instead of the net. Annabelle Jones made four saves to pick up her first shutout of the season.
The Lady Blazers have scored more than two goals just once in its last six games as they prepare for next week’s district tournament. UHA is now 5-5-1 and will close out the regular season Thursday at Christian County.
Madisonville has won a season-high four straight games and stands at 12-5-1. The defending region champions will host Owensboro Thursday.
