The Hopkinsville Tigers look nothing like the team that had its struggles at the beginning of the 2021 soccer season. After starting the year 0-13, the Tigers have wrapped up the regular season with four wins in their last five matches and locking up the #2 seed in the 8th District tournament.

The Tigers clinched the second seed with a 3-2 road win at Fort Campbell Thursday evening. The win gave the Tigers a 2-1 record in district competition.

Will Knight led the way for the Tigers with two goals. Ryan Lawrence had the other goal for Hoptown.

Gabe Harton and Spencer Powell each added an assist for the Tigers. Kenneth McMickens had eight saves in goal for Hopkinsville.

The Tigers and the Falcons will meet again Monday night in the 8th District tournament in one semifinal. Hopkinsville is the #2 seed while the Falcons are the three seed. The other semifinal will have #1 seed University Heights taking on the fourth-seeded Christian County Colonels.
