Cate Blane has made the cut at the Leachman Buick GMC/KHSAA Girls’ State Golf Tournament for the second straight year.
The Hopkinsville High freshman shot a 12-over par 84 and was tied for 45th place after Tuesday’s first round at the Bowling Green Country Club.
Blane began on the back nine where bogeyed the final seven holes for a 43. She improved two shots on the front nine to finish with a 41.
Blane finished tied for 53rd place last year in her first trip to the state tournament and will look to improve on that finish in Wednesday’s final round.
