After nine holes at the Leachman Buick GMC/KHSAA Girls’ State Golf Tournament, Conlee Lindsey was in good shape to make the cut at her first state tourney.
The University Heights Academy freshman finished with three straight pars to go out with a 40. But the back nine proved to be her undoing.
Lindsey failed to make par during her final nine holes that included a 30-minute rain delay and changed how the course was playing. She finished with a round of 93 and missed the cut by five shots.
Tuesday’s round caps a season that saw Lindsey finish in the top-10 at the region for a second straight year and finish runner-up at the All A Classic region tournament.
