Claire Knoth put together a pair of solid rounds to finish tied for 25th at her first girls’ state golf tournament Wednesday at the Bowling Green Country Club.
The Caldwell County junior shot a first-round score of 80 on Tuesday, enduring a 30-minute rain delay on the back nine.
On Wednesday, she was able to avoid major trouble to shoot an 11-over 83. She went out with a 42 and came in with a 41. Knoth tied for ninth place at last week’s region tournament but had the seventh-best score of the region’s players at the state tournament.
Knoth carded four birdies over her two rounds at state.
