Over a month ago Kentucky quarterback Will Levis said any name, image and likeness deals that he got he wanted to find a way to share with the offensive linemen that take care of him on game day.
He has done that with Malone’s — a Lexington steakhouse — because he recently announced Malone’s in Lansdowne had agreed to host him and his offensive line once a week for “an amazing steak dinner” he says his linemen deserve.
“I appreciate them so much. They do so many things they don’t necessarily get recognition for,” Levis said before admitting he might be the biggest eater of the group.
“If you want to be an offensive lineman you have got to be one of most unselfish guys on the planet. Just wanted to show them since the NIL deals got passed that I wanted to mark sure I did something like that.”
He said the deal was finalized after UK’s win at South Carolina and will remain in place the rest of the season — which could be until January if UK keeps winning and gets a high-profile bowl bid.
Levis plans to be at KSBar & Grille Sunday from 2-3:30 p.m. signing autographs for fans after canceling an earlier appearance. However, he’s not letting any of this distract him from preparation for Saturday night’s game with LSU that could move UK to 6-0 overall and 4-0 in SEC play.
“I just have to trust my instincts more and what I have been practicing all week,” he said. “We have to move the chains and get more reps in games. We have to keep our defense off the field. They deserve it. They play their butts off. It’s kind of like a punch in the face when we go out there and go three and out.”
Levis said he’s had problems with his footwork because in games he sometimes speeds up what he is doing.
“I just get too quick with footwork and get antsy. I need to settle in and trust my footwork and continue to make plays with my l legs when I can,” he said. “What I do in games should be the same as I do in practice.
“I am on an upward trend and it’s only going to get higher and higher. It’s never going to stop with this offense.”

If we can solve our offensive problems, we can be dangerous!
