He’s already being mentioned as a Chris Rodriguez-type player because of his size, speed and strength and now Franklin County junior running back Kaden Moorman is also headed to play at Kentucky. The 5-10, 210-pound Moorman announced his commitment on a social media video Friday. He picked UK over Wisconsin and Toledo but don’t doubt that a lot more offers were going to come rolling in for Moorman.

He was at the Kentucky-Florida game last weekend and celebrated on the field. He made it clear then he would likely be committing to UK. He will also be back at Kroger Field tonight when the Cats play LSU.

Moorman is friends with former UK receiver Ryan Timmons of Franklin County and current UK star Wan’Dale Robinson is his cousin.

How good is Moorman? He is averaging 14.5 carries per game but is averaging 111 yards per game. He has 777 yards and 14 touchdowns on 92 carries along with 10 receptions for 124 more yards. He also returned kickoffs for touchdowns against Ballard and Woodford County. On defense, he has a fumble recovery and 12 tackles.

He’s also a standout sprinter in the 100-meter (11.7) and 200 (23.8) dashes.

Moorman said “everyone thinks I am having good games” but he feels like he has yet to play his best.

“I can’t wait till that game comes,” the Franklin running back said.

He is the second in-state junior to commit to UK as he joins Frederick Douglass safety Ty Bryant.

Moorman will join former UK all-SEC running back Anthony White, KSR’s Jack Pilgrim and myself on Stock Yards Bank Sunday Morning Sports on WLAP (630 a.m., https://wlap.iheart.com/) Sunday at 10:30 a.m. to talk about his commitment.
