After a tight, low-scoring first half between Todd County Central and Clarksville Academy, the Cougars pounced on the Rebels coming out of the halftime locker room to cruise to a 63-43 victory.  The Rebels slip to 0-1 with a Friday match-up with Bowling Green looming.  The Purples ended Todd County’s 2017-18 season with a 71-44 regional semifinal win.

The Cougars led 15-12 after a back-and-forth opening quarter, before both defenses clamped down in the second.  The teams combined for only 15 points in the second frame, and Clarksville Academy took a 24-18 lead into the halftime break.  The Cougars’ Daniel Loos led all scorers with 7, while six Rebels had 3 each.

Unfortunately for the Rebels, the wheels fell off in the third quarter.  The Cougars raced out of the locker room on a 10-0 run to take a commanding 16-point lead.  Loos erupted for 11 points in the frame, part of his 17-point second half.  Taysean Moss added 7 and the Cougars led 50-30, before going on to win 63-43.

Loos’ 24 led all scorers, including a couple of emphatic dunks, while also collecting 6 rebounds and 4 blocks.  Jakobi Milan added 13 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists for the Cougars.

Jon Calvery scored 16 after halftime, while the rest of the Rebels only managed 9 points total.  Calvery finished with 19 and also pulled down a team-high 8 boards, followed by Austin Rager in both categories with 8 and 7.
