Rebels Look to End 13th District Tournament Drought

5-20-todd

Todd County Central won just five games in Troy Winders’ first season as Lady Rebel baseball coach, but two of them came against district rival Russellville which meant a three-seed in this week’s 13th District Baseball Tournament.

The Rebels (5-10) will play two-seed Franklin-Simpson (18-18) Monday at 7:30 at Logan County High School.  The Wildcats beat the Rebels 14-4 on April 9 and 13-3 on April 30.

Logan County (27-6), who accumulated the most wins of any Fourth Region teams this year, will play Russellville (2-19) at 5:30 in the other semifinal.

The task for Todd County Central is a monumental one.  They have lost 22 straight games against Franklin-Simpson dating back nine years and have not won a district tournament game or district title since 2004.

Monday’s winners will meet Tuesday for the 13t District championship at 6pm at Logan County High School.
