A postseason honor has been announced for a University Heights Academy Blazer who will be continuing his athletic career in the SEC. UHA’s Drew McGowan has been named Honorable Mention All-State by the Kentucky High School Baseball Coaches Association.
The announcement of the All-State teams came late Monday evening.
In hit senior season, McGowan hit .422, with 2 home runs, and 28 RBI’s. He added 7 doubles, 3 triples, and was walked 23 times. McGowan usually made contact at the plate, as he struck out just three times during the season in 117 plate appearances.
On the mound, McGowan was 3-3, with one save. He struck out 67, while walking only 14.
McGowan has signed to play college baseball at Mississippi State.
