After the longest postseason run in school history in 2018, the Hopkinsville boys’ soccer team got off to a strong preseason start with a good run at the Centre College Team Camp over the weekend.
“We learned a lot about our team and what we need to work on before we go to the Bluegrass State Games (July 26-28),” Coach Tyler Stallons said.
Xavier Bussell, Tyler Greenwell, Mason Marschand, and Mason Rye received Coaches’ Choice Awards, while Jose Favela nabbed a Centre Prospect Award.
The Tigers only lose two starters from last year’s 19-7-2 team that advanced to the state semifinals — the longest run in school history.
Hopkinsville opens their 2019 regular season Aug. 12 at home against Logan County.
